*lady-demented is hard working and aims to do her best, which is clearly seen in her artworks. I first met her when she was developing her drawing skills, and now she has "wowed" us all with her year 12 art majors and latest photo-manipulations. Drawing and photo-manips are not the only artworks she is producing, though. One can gain a mind full of pictures through her beautiful, vivid imagery in her poetry and prose. She is in her gap year, preparing for University, and like any good artist, selling her beautiful artworks. Please help her out by viewing her gallery and maybe buying one of her pieces if you can afford it! Will be worth ever penny!

Hey everyone!

I thought it is time for me to do a contest, as it has been years since my last.

About

Who is your Hero? They could be fictional or real, but I would like to know why you chose them. This contest is to see not who can produce the best quality artwork, but who can really put their skills to the test and portray their Hero the best. Any and all can enter!


Media

Your entry can be from any media, whether drawn, painted, digital, or written.

Rules

1) One entry per artist,

2) No copyrighted images,

3) Must be done specifically for this contest,

4) Must have a link to this journal entry,

( <*a href=\"http://silverwolf71190.deviantart.com/journal/27644415/\">Heroes Contest<*/a> ) Copy and paste without stars.

5) Must answer the following questions in "Artist's Comment":

- Who it is,
- What their relation to you (ie. family, friend, character, etc.),
- Where they came from,
- When they became apart of your life, and
- Why they are your Hero, how did they do what they did?


Judging

I will be the initial judge of all entries from which I will narrow the selection down to the Top 5, then I will have four anonymous judges (not here on DA) vote in the the winner and two runner's up.

The entries will be judged on:

  • Originality,

  • Vision,

  • Technique,

  • Imagery, and

  • Overall portrayal of their Hero.


    Prizes

    1st Prize: will be a one year subscription to DA and their choice of a $25 or less print from the entire of DA, and a one month journal feature.

    2nd Prize: will be a three month subscription to DA, and a one month journal feature.

    3rd Prize: will be a one month subscription, and a one month journal feature.

    I am an artist of many talents, including: Drawing, digital painting, photography, poetry and prose. Enjoy my gallery.

    To start, I'll let you all know that although my "About Me" at the top of the page says I'm in the US, I am currently living in Australia, and have been for almost ten years.

    I will be moving back to America at the end of the year where I will have (hopefully)bought a house in Arizona by then, and will join the US Navy. In the Navy I hope to become a Cryptologic Technician and be a Linguist. I am excited for all of it and cannot wait.

    Back here in Australia will be my immediate family, dad, mum and brother. My parents are the the total bad-ass motorcycle (Honda) riders apart of a gang for old-farts. My brother is a self-taught guitarist for a band called Here Among Dead (his and a friends' creation). The rest of my extended family resides in America.

    I also have three cats and a dog. The first cat, who most of you should know, is Spini, the model of a majority of my photos. She is getting old, though, and never wants to come home as she hates the other two cats. The second is Tweak, whose name should be all I have to say, and Firecracker, who is also crazy, but has gotten to be a FAT cat! She is also known as (I don't have pinyin on here, so no accents) Pang xiao mao!

    I reckon I should cut the life story now as you're probably all bored and never made it this far, so thanks for listening and enjoy my page!
