"Silence of the Night" is a great piece of poetry; it is simple yet powerful. The visual and sound imagery are stunning. One can really...

This is a very emotional piece. One can truly feel the pain and sadness the artist is going through. The poem is quite short, six stanz...

Well, about 3 months since my last journal entry, so I'm getting better (a month at a time, lool).

Kicking off from November:
I did the JDRF walk to cure diabetes and raised over $300, so I was quite happy with that. The event was pretty big (but anything GoDaddy.com does is). A week or so later, I did the Turkey Trot back in L.A. with my aunt and cousin. It was HEAPS fun! I set a goal to do it in under 50 minutes and I did it in 41:22! I shattered my goal to pieces, but I felt pretty sick after, lool. I pushed hard and am proud of myself for that. It was also nice to hang out with family, too. Well, my aunt whom I was meant to spend the rest of the weekend with had to leave due to an issue, but I got to stay at another aunts house and got to play with the twin! THAT was heaps fun!

December:
I finished up my semester with a couple of exams. I did pretty well overall, and was even surprised at my Spanish results... I received a "B" which was nice. I couldn't rest, though... The day after my last exam I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed... That was pretty sucky, lool. I healed quite fast, though. I was able to eat normal in about a week, though all of the food getting stuck in the holes in my cheeks wasn't fun :/
A week after that, my mum came for a visit. Shop, shop, shop... That's all we really did... I mean, if it was for clothes and such, I wouldn't have minded, but it was all freaking FOOD! I gained 8 pounds in those two weeks she was here...

January:
BACK TO SCHOOL! YAY! (no). I haven't really had a break since May of last year and it sure is taking it's toll. I am bloody EXHAUSTED and OVERWHELMED with stress. I sure can't wait until this crap is over, so I can experience the stress of having to support myself... Fun...

I am currently in my fourth week of classes and it's homework, homework, homework... 90% of it in Spanish. I really dread having to go to Spanish. I just want to fall off of the face of the earth on Tuesday's and Thursday's... The rest of the week is great, though! I have Maths EVERY morning at 7am, which I am doing great in, then I have English at 8am, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I LOVE those days! English is great. Especially my teacher. He is a REAL teacher, like those I am used to in Australia. He is very blunt, doesn't tolerate PC, and is not afraid to introduce controversial ideas by not worrying about those who may go and have a bloody cry because he brought it up... He also encourages HEALTHY rhetoric and argument. Something this country sure is lacking as of late... He is also quite interesting with his stories and how he defines "big words". I think it's the only class I have ever paid attention in, honestly.

So, now that I have done a bit of a "month-by-month", I can just get into the general crap. My health is doing a little better than where it was a couple of months ago... My lost control of my blood sugars again, but now they are getting back to normal now that I have learned how to count carbs, FINALLY! I was also properly educated in diabetes and know so much more to apply to my daily routine. I am also getting on an insulin pump... It's been sitting in my house for about a week now, teasing me. I really want to get started but I have to wait until I can take a class, and unfortunately the only ones available were the day after I received it (and I wasn't prepared for that class), or Monday the 13th. So Monday I'll be headed in to get things going!

I have finally decided what direction I am going in life, which is Nutrition and Dietetics, and Diabetes Education. I mean, why not??? I want to help people who are told a whole bunch of crap that confuses them and eventually leads to them giving up, as I had. So, this past Saturday I went to a Diabetes Mentor Training at the JDRF. I'm getting a start on the interaction between newly diagnosed individuals (in type 1) and myself. This kind of volunteering can only help me in the future and of course those I am "mentoring".

My doctor who has taught me so much about diabetes and has motivated me to get back on track can no longer see me. The office in which he works is dropping my insurance (because Aetna is a bunch of complainers) and so I now have to find another doctor... It took me about nine months just to find him... I hope my search provides me with some luck... I'm stressed out enough without having to tell and educate another doctor about my health issues.

Finally, stress is really taking a toll on my personal life. I am so unbelievably angry all of the time. I have NEVER been like this, but moving from such a laid back (and lazy) country to this one that is bloody non-stop is killing me (maybe even literally). I can hardly handle anything, and dumbasses sure as fuck don't help.

I currently live in Arizona in the house I bought last year. It's been a hard road but I'm sure things should pick up soon.

Back in Australia are be my immediate family: dad, mum and brother. My parents are the the total bad-ass motorcycle (Honda) riders apart of a gang for old-farts. My brother is a self-taught guitarist for a band called Here Among Dead (his and a friends' creation). The rest of my extended family resides in America.

I also have three cats and a dog. The first cat, who most of you should know, is Spini, the model of a majority of my photos. She is getting old, though, and never wants to come home as she hates the other two cats. The second is Tweak, whose name should be all I have to say, and Firecracker, who is also crazy, but has gotten to be a FAT cat! She is also known as (I don't have pinyin on here, so no accents) Pang xiao mao!

I reckon I should cut the life story now as you're probably all bored and never made it this far, so thanks for listening and enjoy my page!
